Mings privacy policy
Applies to mings.eq7.in and the Mings apps for iOS and Android. Last updated 11 October 2026.
What Mings stores
Your account: the name, email address and profile picture your sign-in provider (Google or Apple) shares, plus a stable account identifier from that provider.
Your files: the photos, videos and files you choose to upload, with their names, sizes, dates and technical metadata (such as dimensions, duration and the date a photo was taken). Mings creates smaller copies (thumbnails and previews) so your library loads quickly.
Activity: a log of important actions on your account (sign-ins, uploads, downloads, deletions), including the IP address and device type, kept for up to 365 days so you can review access to your files.
People (optional, off until you turn it on): if you choose Recognize Faces, the Mings app on your iPhone looks for faces in your photos and computes a numeric face fingerprint for each, which is stored on the Mings server to group your photos by person. Face images never leave your device for this; fingerprints are never shared, sold or used for anything else, and you can turn the feature off and delete all face data at any time in Account.
Sharing and safety: when you share a collection, the people you add can see and download its photos. If you report content, the report and the reported item are reviewed by the Mings team. Blocks you set are stored so they can be enforced.
What Mings does not do
Mings does not sell your data, show ads, use your files to train models, or share your files with anyone. The apps only access photos you pick; they never read the rest of your photo library.
Where your data is kept
Files are stored privately in Amazon S3 (Mumbai region), encrypted at rest, and are only reachable through short-lived links issued to your signed-in account. Account data is stored in a database hosted by Hostinger. All connections use HTTPS.
Deleting your data
Items you delete go to Trash and are permanently deleted after 30 days, or immediately when you empty the Trash. You can delete your account in the app or on the website (Account → Delete account): all your files, their copies, face data and your account details are then permanently removed, and a Sign in with Apple link is revoked.
